Processing: Rope drums with grooves cut directly into them.Winch drum with flange, the LBS groove is cut directly into the body of the drum, according to customers’ requirements, the flanges are either welded or screw-bolted. groove geometry is determined by rope construction, diameter and length, and by application. the drum has the required mounting dimensions for the actual operating conditions.
LBS rope groove drum also requires certain operating conditions. The most important of these conditions is the deflection Angle of the wire rope, which is the Angle between the wire rope from the reel to the first fixed pulley. Generally speaking, this deflection Angle should not be greater than 1.5° and should not be less than 0.5°. There are some slight differences (about a 0.25° variation), but it is good to remember this general statistic. The optimal deflection Angle also depends on the load, cable structure and lifting speed. This deflection Angle indicates that for every 10m from the drum to the pulley, the distance between the wire rope and the midpoint of the drum should not be greater than 260mm (520mm between the two flanges). For LBS groove reels, if the deflection Angle exceeds the recommended range, a special rope called Angle compensator can be used to relax and be damaged by extruding or twisting of the outer wire rope onto the groove.
